What the COP26 climate conference really means

Written by Maria Aloysius Torres, CNN

The COP26 climate change conference has ended, but there’s still a mountain to climb on how to tackle climate change.

The Paris Climate Agreement, which was agreed to in 2015 and took several years to negotiate, seeks to cap global warming at well below 2C (3.6F) and is working to pursue deeper cuts to greenhouse gas emissions.

But participants at COP26 were given a stark warning on Tuesday that the accord could fall apart due to intransigence by countries with low emissions like the US, Saudi Arabia and Venezuela.

So, what do you think?

CNN chose seven individuals, including a scientist, a head of state and a business leader, to report on the body — and the culture — of those working hard to combat climate change, from the top. This is the fifth and final segment of the seven-part series.
