A hairdresser in Toronto faces additional charges in a child sex abuse investigation. Jennifer Acosta, 41, is now facing six counts of sexual assault and three counts of sexual interference against young boys.
Acosta, who has since been arrested and released, was accused earlier of two counts of sexual assault and one count of sexual interference.
The Canadian Press reported that police say Acosta was arrested at her East York salon, Pump-Up Salon. One of the charges, sexual assault, was allegedly committed in a client’s chair.
One of the alleged victims had gone to Acosta for hair styling, but her alleged abuse took place off the premises, said Toronto Police Const. Allyson Douglas-Cook, according to the Canadian Press.
Acosta was arrested on August 22 on suspicion of assault, but four more victims have been identified in connection with the allegations.
Acosta is scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday.
